Himley Division - Dash

Over 400 Girlguiding Himley members took part in a challenge day, where they tested out their team skills, and helped raise money for Promise Dreams.

Teams of Rainbows, Brownies and Guides from the four Districts competed against each other to win a District Trophy. Activities ranged from hooking ducks, beat the goalie, various water challenges, and for the Guides, 4 challenge zones to complete.

The winning teams were the Rainbows from Brierley Hill, Brownies from Dawley Brook and the Guides from Kingswinford. In the lunch break, the girls raised money on teddy tombolas and other side stalls.

Division Commissioner, Wendy Cowdrey, took an active part by having wet sponges thrown at her, raising £70 alone.Event co-ordinator Dawn Keeley said ‘The day was a great success, thanks to all the volunteers who helped, and everyone had a great time. We will definitely repeat this again’.

Wendy Cowdrey and representatives all each of the Guiding sections presented a cheque for £170 to Jane Barnett, from Promise Dreams.
