Senior Section
Senior Section members can become Young Leaders and help younger girls
This is the section for young ladies aged from their 14th to 26th birthdays and has been operating under various titles since 1916.
Senior section is organised very differently from other areas of Girlguiding reflecting the growing maturity and differing lifestyles of the young women involved.
- Ranger – Rangers meet as a group (called a Unit) and can take part in any Section programme or activity.
- Young Leader - members aged 14-18 can work within Rainbow, Brownie or Guide Units and gain young leader or work towards adult leadership qualifications.
- Young adult Leader – members aged 18-26 working towards their adult leadership qualifications in Rainbow, Brownie, Guide or Senior Section units.
- Lone Senior Section member – work on any part of the programme but are not part of any unit or Look Wider group
- In4mer – passing on their knowledge of issues or the world to their piers
- Member of SSAGO – aimed at those young ladies during their University years
- Young Commissioner/Advisor or a Member of Trefoil Guild – as long as they are under 26 these ladies are also able to join Senior Section activities.
Involvement in Senior Section is recognised as an asset on the CV by employers and universities.

| Peer education | Develop skills, knowledge and understanding of girls and young women from each other. |
| Residentials | A great way to meet people and work as a group without a leader or adult in charge. |

Where can I find Senior Section?
There are over 20 Senior Section Units spread all across West Mercia, with aroung 300 girls involved in the various aspects of the Senior Section. In order to find your nearest Unit, please contact us.
