What is SHOUT?

SHOUT is West Mercia County Newsletter. It was re-launched under the new name of SHOUT in September 2008.

Why was it called SHOUT?

After researching the newsletters currently in existence throughout Girlguiding UK, it was decided to have a short name which would be identified easily and sound interesting, plus SHOUT is appropriate because our younger members love to ‘SHOUT’ to make themselves heard…

How do you get to see a copy of SHOUT?

It is currently published in January, April and September as a hard copy newsletter available from District Commissioners or via email from the editor and here on the website.

What does it contain?

It has an article from our County Commissioner or Assistant County Commissioner, another article by our Midland Region Chief Guide and lots of other articles about various topical issues, such as GO, County Training Days and Awards and Presentations. Everyone is encouraged to write an article, whether it is to let others know about a great place to go on a visit or how you have celebrated a special moment or event with your unit, District or Division. The newsletter also acts as a link to other articles and information on Girlguiding UK website.

How do you get an article in SHOUT?

Please send articles by email or telephone to Pat Steward – Newsletter Co-ordinator.

Articles should be no more than 200 - 300 words in length. SHOUT is your newsletter for your news – so let’s get shouting and put West Mercia in the news…
